Thanks that looks very interesting. As I don't seem to be able to buy square bar, how difficult is Nylon to cut with handtools? I'm not concerned about precision - as long as it does not end up looking like a dogs dinner.
No problem - its oil content makes it really easy to machine. It doesn't like sanding, but responds well to a sharp plane blade and gives a perfect edge. Basically, anything that cuts cool is fine.....sanding can melt the surface a fraction due to heat build up.
Can we ask what your project is? Nylon is hellish expensive, and often used because of its chemically and medically inert properties!

Its for a cheese press. They are often made of wood, but to me there is too much moisture around. Plastic of some form just seems a better idea. (And nice to work in a different material for a change.) HDPE may be a suitable alternative, but I'm need to investigate how much it will flex under pressure.
Nylon is an excellent choice for this, but if you need to bond it then you'll need a specific adhesive.
If I remember correctly it's an epoxy-acrylic based compound and maybe Henkel make it? Certainly normal plastic glues won't touch it.
