Just fitted real oak skirting and with the furniture back in the room, there's a bit of an obvious colour mismatch between two planks.
One is slightly darker and redder than the next. This wasn't really noticeable when fitting due to expanse of skirting, but stands out now grrr.
I've clear waxed the oak to keep it natural and enhance the grain. I don't fancy ripping out either plank so any thoughts on how to darken the lighter plank which is only 24" long? I'm not after a perfect match but narrowing the difference a tone or two. Matching at the other end isn't an issue as there is furniture covering that end. Unable to put furniture where the mismatch is.
Many thanks
