I can find a next service due 6 - 3 -15 so I know older than that, this

Gives most details, but getting grants we need age. An internet hunt says it is "Condensing" with no method of getting rid of condensate can't see that being correct, to be BS EN 9002 must be after 15 July 1994.

We don't want a new boiler, but can't get grants on other things if the boiler is too new.

from what i have read, you can not tell the age based on serial number unlike other boilers with a date code

I found a book inside the boiler, 15-06-2004 was the installation date, however it seems must be E or D to get grants, why the adverts simply don't say has to be E or worse I don't know, the advert was simply a time waster my house is D and only two points from being a C so any re-inspection likely will be a C.
