Hi i have been to a customers house , it it a newly bought property . They have enquired how old the boiler is and whether they will be better fitting a new one as they plan to live in the house for the next 20 years or so.

The problem is i have never heard of the boiler and have tried a search and can find nothing . It has JETSTREAM 4 PLUS ON front and there is some paperwork which also states it is by PERRYMATIC size 125/140. I m aware of the output but cannot find anything , manuals, age if boiler etc etc. If anyone can shed any light i would be most grateful.

Many thanks

I've never had the pleasure of meeting that particular boiler, but I think the 125/140 is fitted with the Riello R40 G3B burner, which is easy enough to maintain.
John :)

IIRC we did a few services on a Perrymatic when I was apprenticed, huge thing sitting in a dark corner of the kitchen in a large stone cottage. Only time we went to it was to service it, it never went wrong.

May be wrong but think Perrymatic were taken over by Benson or someone similar.

Thanks for replies
The servicing is not a problem. It appears to be working fine with no problems. The customer is also a child minder and the boiler is right in the main play room for kids . She either wants it moving nearer the oil tank which is the other side of the house or a new external one fitted.. Thats why she asked how old it was etc.

Once again thanks for replies

Perrymatics were an oil boiler manufacturing company on the South Coast that went breasts uppermost about 15-20 years ago. So your boiler is an old model, relatively inefficient by todays standards.

Certainly wouldn't bother moving it. Other than to the skip.

Taken over by Benson then Halstead Boilers.

Benson manual appears to be dated 1994 if that is any help.

I would say that 1994 is a good guess on the boilers age, once Halstead boilers took over from Benson they completely redesigned the boiler and then ceased its production (that says a lot hey!!) ;)
