Wallstar oil boiler. For months it has occasionally locked out for no apparent reason. Then the motor ran continually with no lockout. Their was no oil spray, no spark, and the motor kept on running. Took the Control Box apart. No apparent problems with any contacts, and no burn marks anywhere. 240v is getting to the Ignition Transformer, no sign of damage on electrodes or leads and gap is ok.
After assembling it again for the third time, the symptoms have changed.
Now the motor runs, still no spark, but the oil starts spraying.
I'm thinking faulty Control Box or Ignition Transformer but can't decide which.
Control Box - Satronic TF830.2N
Ignition Transformer - Danfoss EBI 052F0030

If you have a supply to the EBI and no spark it must be faulty if as you say the lead and electrodes are ok!!
I would also replace the control box as it is obviously not working reliably!!
(And you have also been playing with it)
Whilst you are at it you could also check the photo cell for correct operation!
When you have it running check smoke ,Co2 and FGT as short cycling of burner will F**k the IGN TXFR!!

Good luck ;)

Careful how you do it, but remove the control box then bridge the ignition terminal to the live and check for a spark, then do the same for the solenoid, but listen for a click.

If the transformer was faulty it has probably damaged the control box. Use a DKO 970 if you replace it.

Thanks for your help guys.
Both parts did prove to be faulty. Changed them both.
Boilers running well now.
