I short,we have a Rayburn 480K-2 range cooker /boiler which needs to go.
Its cost a fortune to repair so far this year, its just broken down again, and I know for fact there's even more repairs lined up.
What would be a suitable replacement?
It has to be oil fired as theres no mains gas and the budget wont stretch to changing to LPG anyway.
It doesnt need to be a range type cooker just a boiler of similar or better heating capacity.
With the rayburn gone there would be plenty of space.
Does it HAVE to be a combi type?- it would be a lot less upheaval to keep the existing hot-water-tank system as the house seems to have been physically built around it
Obviously a reputable, reliable brand is needed but a quiet machine would be apprieciated if it couldnt be boxed in.
We had a Worcester gas boiler in the last place which was superb (and silent!)-are their oil machine as good?

Advice appeciated !

There's absolutely no requirement whatsoever to have a combi, never has been - keep your cylinder and just have a new boiler. Go for a Hounsfield - cheaper than a Woofter and better designed too. Extremely quiet in operation due to superior sound insulation. Five year warranty as standard

Grant Boiler, internal or external models available. A 'Y' or 'S' heating plan would give you independent control of heating house and hot water... keeping your existing cylinder, with thermostats for house and water temperature.
