Having benefitted from the very useful input of forum users regarding my proposed ASHP heating system I am now looking at going the more conventional OIl Fired boiler route.

So I thought it would be sensible to ask what makes people would recommend?

You could do a lot worse than fit one of these....

A 55kw Grant Vortex I fitted in a large gaffe (owned by a fridge engineer) complete with Siemens WC control technology.
This is feeding 350sq/m of underfloor heating.
A smaller one might fit your bill. :D

Grant or Worcester-Bosch are the only two makes to consider really, you'll find the vast majority of engineers use one or the other for oil. Get the one your installer is most comfortable with - some people don't like WB as they claim they're difficult to fit, which they aren't

WB are very cramped and fussy. Grant are my choice, also fitted a few Firebirds recently which arnt too bad.

Grant for me every time with Firebird as second choice.
Forget worcester, they have had their day
