Seriously, the products are closely related. Would a modern engine tolerate plain old kerosene?
Just done some more research. Here's a guy who was fined £500 for running his car on cooking oil from Asda.

I believe the bad boys who use Kerosene add a gallon of engine oil to a 25 gallon drum.
Customs and excise are welcome to come and dip my tank, I only use cosher stuff.
I used to buy legitimate bidiesel but it clogged up my transit pump, and the rac man said it's a big problem so I never touch the stuff.
If the government really cared about emissions they would start growing oil sead rape and remove the duty on biodiesel alltogether like the rest of europe but no, they want the tax revenue too much.
That's the problem with smokers too, government sees the short term benefit of taxing tobacco rather than the long term cost to the nhs. otoh smokers thankfully die younbg so are less of a burden on the pension system. That's the thing that makes it just not worth shooting them.
Not sure which I'd prefer in my house a smoker or a gas fire. No, think I'll stick to present policy and accept neither. Room sealed appliances only. Wouldn't let a gas cooker anywhere near the door.
Landlord check other day, no openable window, and dubious extractor fann. So I told him it's a fan I supply or an electric cooker. Electric it is then. Good, one less tenant breathing in co2 for a while and co eventually.

Here's one to make the hair stand on end. I recently read that any improvements to road or rail transport are costed to include the loss to the Treasury caused by vehicles using less fuel as a result.
Apparently several worthwhile schemes to ease congestion or speed up travel have fallen at this hurdle because cars would use less petrol and rob the Treasury of fuel duty. How crazy is that?

I was in attendance at a farm when red diesel was delivered, the tanker guy told me he was delivering Heating oil to next delivery and he didn't want red in the pipes so he flushed the lines straight into the red tank, with heating oil... when i asked about this his comment was...same stuff no dye...
A friend changed his aga from oil to wood and fed his escort van the heating oil for a month with no ill effects (pity to waste it!).... however i know of one local guy who got dipped and the cops found red in his tank (tho this will apply to any untaxed fuel) and they imedietly got the Customs to seize his car, which was then taken to their pound at Dover (300 miles away!) and they wanted £800 to return it)

just bought a new van & the dealer said (i must look dodgy) not to try to run on any thing than pucker diesel or the fuel pump ona common rail diesel will die. he was a good guy & did a good deal so i do believe him.
Yes RAC man told me tha Ford refuse to honour the warranty on pump if bio diesel has been used. Might not seem a big issue until you realise the pumps cost £2,500.

If you run your car on neat Kero you will prematurely wear the engine at best and at worse completely sieze it up due to Kero being "dry", and not lubricating like diesel.
tel it as it is. once put £40 a petrol in ma 4x4 then £20 a diesel . try to over come it bought a gallon of oil in & put half in. it was gon eleven on a sat night so it seemed a goodidea to get home 8 miles away. engine got hot smoked & smelled like a chip fryer & week later started running like a bag a sh1t. i learnt the hard way that injectors arnt cheap. a mistakes a p.....ser but to take a chance in my opinions stupid.
COME ON MOD put it back in plumbing . if we can save another egineers engine mine didn't die in vane.
