We have a oiled oak floor but unfortunately got a couple of marks on it. One or 2 very small paint spots (only 2 or 3mm diameter) and a darker dirty mark.
They came off easily enough with a light rub with a scotchbrite type scourer. The problem is we are now left with small 'lighter coloured' areas where I rubbed the marks.
We've tried cleaning (with Woca soap) and re-oiling (with Leha oil) but these light areas are still quite noticeable.
Any ideas on what we can do to help blend these parts in with the rest of the floor?

Many Thanks.

How old is the floor? If it was installed and oiled a longer time ago than the scourer might have removed the 'ageing' look every floor finish gets after a while. Your lighter spots will gradually age too and disappear.
Patience is a virtue ;)

Hi, thanks for the reply.
It's only been down 18 months or so the colour looks more or less the same as it was when I laid it.

Have a look here to see how much the colour changes in 2 years time, 18 months is time enough for the Oak to change colour. It does happen gradually so sometimes you don't notice it until something like this happens.
