Recently inherited some old decking thats seen better days. It previously had a coloured stains that has all but worn away.
I have removed the rotten boards and and ready to replace with new ones. I slowly doing up the garden so I only plan getting another 2 years out of it.
My plan is to jet wash existing and use some cleaner and reviver before oiling. However, I believe I am supposed to leave the new boards for a few months to naturally weather before oiling. Waiting to oil the whole lot will will not help the existing as its in dire need of some TLC.
So can i oil in two stages ( Existing decking now, old in few months) or will there be a considerable colour mismatch of boards?
It does not have to be perfect. It's more of a quick temporary fix rather than have rotten boards ive put my foot through.
