Yes, it had gone off-topic, but then more threads do than not, it seems.

And yes, there'd been some frank exchange of views, but no hideous rows, that I recall.

The last I saw was Slogger's daft interjection, and the next thing I know the whole thread had gone.

What happened?

Sometimes this forum makes me feel like I'm back at school.

But I know that as far as the mods are concerned if I don't like it I can go elsewhere.

The trouble is, we are going though a very testing time at the moment and some of the post refect that. I'm sure if Tony & his cronies had a debate on here the mods would have to lock it.

Well actually I'm not blaming you - the comment you made was pointless and daft, but it didn't warrant deleting the thread. It could more easily have had just your post deleted.

Maybe I was wrong about how the frank exchange of views looked to an ousider.

Maybe there were other posts after yours.

Maybe baldy lost it big time.
