Would this work, and if not why not? I have rubber underlay which is good condition and wondering if it would serve as an underlay for the laminate.....
Underlay for laminate is normally just used to get rid of minor imperfections and to act as an insulation of sorts. It depends how thick and springy your insulation is. TBH, I'd stick to the underlay designed for the job - it's pretty cheap and easy to put down....
