Old boiler chimney removal.

Him I'm working on a house and we have had the old ideal Mexico floor standing boiler removed as part of a kitchen renovation, the problem I have is the remaining chimney Breast sticking down into the kitchen and I want to remove it, the chimney doesn't look structural and has a steel supporting the weight in the loft (bungalow) I only need to remove it to ceiling night and the rest can stay in. I have attached some photos can someone tell me if this would be a issue ? The chimney is not used for any other appliances and it boarded up in the other room.
