I would like to ask if an old fire place that has been replaced with an MDF type cover after the old gas fire was removed, can just be covered over.
Please excuse my lack of building nouse.
Basically old fire place ripped out, the council removed all asbestos and just covered over with a flat MDF panel with air grills to cover hole in wall.
Is there anything I would need to do, before getting a builder to cover it over as I'm getting the whole room plastered anyway.
The flat is owned outright by my father, so permission wouldn't be needed would it?
