Why do people still get it wrong - it's an inquiry...Lockerbie never got an enquiry...who knows why?
But the helicopter crash at Leicester football ground did, ruled an accident, well that was obvious.
In AmericaWhy do people still get it wrong - it's an inquiry...
Firstly, it was an inquest, not an inquiry. The AAIB will have reported too, as they do for every aircraft accident, fatal or not.Lockerbie never got an enquiry...who knows why?
But the helicopter crash at Leicester football ground did, ruled an accident, well that was obvious.
Leicester is not in America. In America
Oh thought it wasLeicester is not in America.
The authorities know full well who was behind the atrocity but the inquiry isn't about finding the killers, it's about blaming the police and security forces for not preventing it.Started today 25 (?) years after the atrocity to which no one has been held to account
Ironically the inquiry into the shooting of 26 unarmed civilians on Bloody Sunday took 26 years to start...
And only concluded 12 years later saying that the deaths were "unjustified" and "unjustifiable"
"It found that all of those shot were unarmed, that none were posing a serious threat, that no bombs were thrown and that soldiers "knowingly put forward false accounts" to justify their firing"
And yet no-one was held to account...
Were you equally shocked at the level of grief that atrocity caused transam?
Because, unlike a lot of other countries, the UK is a democracy, this means terrorists can literally get away with murder. If they knew who was behind it why didn't they prevent it? .
Not quite true. And yet no-one was held to account
The terrorists got these rights after Birmingham and Guildford, many a confession having been obtained by questionable means until then. The terms of reference of the inquiry look like the usual talking shop for lawyers and journo’s, endless speculation about causation. But it might shed light on whether the response to telephone warning was cocked up, which the victims and families are entitled to have looked into further.Because, unlike a lot of other countries, the UK is a democracy, this means terrorists can literally get away with murder.
The security forces have a clear picture of who is involved in terrorism in N.I. but you can't lock people up based on suspicion.
The terrorists themselves are streetwise and always have a lawyer on call in the event of arrest.
