Open plan downstairs area

We are buying a house which has been made totally open plan down stairs. We would like to make a separate living room from kitchen/dining area. Has anyone any idea how difficult it would be to add a stud wall and joining door (wall approx 3.5 m) wide, also what is likely to be the cost of adding an additional wall and door.

Easy job if you have the skill. Costs vary, would that be a £12 panel door or £200 solid oak?
