optima accenta alarm... bellbox going off!!!

My alarm went into fault last night.. not good!! had to climb the ladder remove the red battery jumper to off... as could not gain control from the keypad....

Opened up the main control box... all fuses are ok.. tried a full power down... no joy... when i try to change the jumper back to 'on' position alarm sounds and unable to reset at keypad...

When i disable the bellbox and set the alarm as if im going out.. then set of one of the pir's the interior alarm sounds and am able to reset ok... my thoughts are that the battery in the bellbox has gone!!!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!! many thanks john

How old are the batteries?

The bellbox is about 3 years old... ive tested the batts since the last post and im get over 6v... so o.k....

The alarm system works fine without the bellbox connected.. ie if i set the alarm and then break a pir.. the interior alarm sounds and i can reset with my code ok...

When the bellbox is connected it just sounds constantly... maybe the pcd has a fault!! im a bit puzzled... the box is a ventcroft classic spirit...
