Hi
I have a gulley which is partially blocked and have tried the usual One Shot, Hot water etc to no avail.

I can't rod it as it is a 3 metre run which joins at 90 deg to my neighbours waste (no manhole at change of direction! ) which is served further on by a manhole.

I am thinking that maybe fitting an inspection chamber will enable me to get the rods up both directions. Any better options please.
Pics of the expected pipe run which I have started to expose.

Phone Dyno Rod, time to get the pro's in, youve been struggling with this 1 for a while :D

It might cost a fortune  Look in a manhole downstream and check flow from a wc upstream - to ascertain if main run is clear  Then chuck some water down your gulley - if that flow is slow , then continue digging ;) OR pay any drain co. £oads - your choice . You don`t need pro`s . I saw one on a site yesterday , lobbing lengths of pvc around and belting it together . More work for the remedial guys a few years down the line ;)

Are u sure its not a soakaway?
That was my assumption too. There is a rainwater downpipe into it and the house does look max of about 40 years old which means rainwater wouldn't likely go to sewer. Whoever fitted that waste pipe probably didnt have a clue or didn't care about correctly draining into the sewer.

What's going through that uncladded pipe clipped to the wall? Tut tut ;)

It is a bungalow and the drain has always served the kitchen sink waste as well as draining the roof.

Is an inspection chamber a good option i.e exposing the pipe, putting an IC in and then rod.?

It will make life easier. You've pretty much made your mind up on this one, so go with it!! ;)

Can't you try and rod from the manhole and go backwards from your neighbours, to your gully.

That would be the way I would jet.

But it could be water running from a tee in the kitchen to a tap to the right of the building as we're looking at it. Come on op, prove me wrong

Don't fancy digging that up! :(
