Hi I am just about to embark on decorating a bedroom.
I've ripped the ceiling down and am now left with a blank canvas. I want to install some sound reduction to the party wall but its a minefield!
The party wall block work and a plaster finish.
I was thinking of the following:
1. Install resilient bars direct to the party wall and then double layer of soundblock plasterboard
2. Install batons into wall and then resilient bars across those. I am not sure what size baton to use.
3. Install batons just off the wall using the ceiling joists on the top.
can anyone give any guidance please? My preference is option 1 as it reduces the amount of space I will lose. However screwing in to the partywall may transmit some noise too
