Hi everyone We are trying to decide which coating to use on our jarrah floor boards. I am anxious to hear about experiences with osmo wax oil. What sort of finish you are left with - benefits pitflalls etc. i have waited 10 years for this.......
Jarrah, being a tropical wood-species, is "oilier" than Oak or other blond wood species.
HardWaxOil could give you a patchy result, because the oil in this product won't have enough time to do its work - penetrating the wood for long term protection - before the wax - giving you the ear and tear layer - start to do its work.
Therefore, on tropical wood species we always recommend to apply one coat of extra thin oil, followed by 1 (only 1) coat of HardWaxOil. Or as we like to call it: the tropical combo
