Hi all,

Just moved into a new single bed, relatively new flat (circa 6 years old) - insulation etc. seems pretty good but the previous tenant (and landlord) are clueless about the hot water system....

From what i've been able to piece together its all based off a single Oso Direct 20 RD 170l Unvented water heater with 2 options - a 'boost' and a on/off switch - no timer etc either.

What i've not been able to work out is would it be more economic to leave the heater on all day so it just has to maintain a constant temperature (and if anyone knows how much elecy this would use) or whether i continue my current practice of blipping it on for an hour or so first thing in the morning (7ish) before i go to work?

Cheers

Is there a timeclock controlling the system.

They really should be set up so the cylinder heats up overnight on economy 7 and the boost is just for extra hot water when required.

However I have seen a lot fitted in flats where no one has bothered to install an economy 7 meter hence it's pointless
