Hi I used out of date plaster to do some patch work. It's up it's fine only problem is I can't paint over it at it, it's just flaking off, I have tried pva, etc but nothing is working, plz can u help thanx
Did you prime the walls well prior to application, if the plaster is past it use by date, it will go off quicker and suction levels are likely to increase, so water contains in the mix will be consumed at an increased level. This could lead to cracking and flaking.
It maybe best if you cannot stabilise it to do it again.
The plaster is covered with easi fill, there is a patch on the wall done at the same time that the ceiling was done, just the ceiling isn't taking the paint
