I'm toying with the idea of designing an outdoor kitchen and was after some advice on a fireplace.
I have a space of about 3 x 5.5m to play with and it will run alongside my fence. I was thinking about building four brick pillars and sitting a tiled roof on top (pavilion style) with cladded stone pillars. I'd have walls around the outside forming a 'u' shape and a worktop sat on top. See attached image.
After looking online, I stumbled across these outdoor fireplaces https://www.topstak.co.uk/barbecues-and-firepits/outdoor-heating/isokern-garden/isokern-garden-950/
Would planning permission be required for this as it would be close to my neighbour's fence (assuming I installed it next to the fence side). I could install it on the other side, so 3 metres away but it might look a little odd.
Is my structure governed by the usual no more than 2.4m height rule?
