Hi All

I have just replaced my broken outdoor light for a new one, I got home tonight when it was dark, and my front door resembled a disco! The light was flicking on off on off. I have a separete PIR about 5cms away from the light and i think the light is setting the sensor off as when i put a tea towel over the sensor it stop switching.

As a quick fix, i taped half the sensor up with tape - and its now working, has anyone got any better ideas? should i move the sensor further a way or can the sensitivity of the PIR be altered?? It worked fine with the old light - new light must be brighter!

Thanks

Some PIRs (the better ones) come with little clip-on shields to mask the light for this very reason.

Your tape will do the same job.

('till it weathers and drops off!)
