Hi there is an existing outdoor light with PIR on a wall, but is switched from inside the house as there is no lux sensor to prevent the light from activating during the day. They want a photocell sensor fitted to switch it automatically but the cable going to the light is via twin and earth from an FCU. They don't want a new light as the current one incorporates an audible warning when the light is activated. What's the best way to wire them both up?
Thanks

You link out the existing PIR, then you wire between FCU and light via the photcell!
If the twin and earth is exposed to external conditions, suggest to the client that suitable cable/flex is used to replace it or conduit is used.

Is it better to replace the run with flex?
If the cable is mounted externally then twin and earth should be installed within conduit or alternatively a suitable cable/flex that can deal with the external environment. So those are your options, one is no better than the other in my opinion, but I try to keep cables from being routed externally, not always possible but lighting fitted to the building is doable.
