Outlook 2007 forward email to hotmail

I am using an Outlook 2007 that is on an exchanger server, I am trying to forward emails, using out of office, Whilst they will forward to people on the server, they will not forward to my hotmail.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Im merely an employee, Although our IT people say its not blocked.

Tell your IT people that there is a policy setting in Enterprise Site Manager, from what i recall its in

Global Settings,

They need to make sure "allow automatic forward" is checked, it is not switched on by default as forwarding to external accounts is sometimes used for illicit purposes.

Edit, this may be different depending on what version of exchange they are using but if they google "allow automatic forward" the answer will be found.
