The muppet that I owned my house before me disabled the stairwell lighting wall switches and installed a security sensor on the ceiling at the top of the stairs. This switches the light on when anyone walks up the stairs. "Handy!" you might think... but for a number of reasons I'd quite like to take it and the box that sets the 'light on' duration off (they are ugly). The disabled wall switches are at the top and bottom of the stairs. All wiring is in the walls (i.e. not in visible/proud trunking)... any ideas how easy this may or may not be?

Difficult to say without knowing your ability.

How much understanding do you have of how lighting circuts are wired?

I take it that the "disabled" switches are still present? What wires are there?
