Hi,
I hope everyone is doing well!
I have maybe a silly question but want to make sure I dont cause any issues further down the road.
My outside Lantern Light next to my front door has failed (the PiR unit has died) this fitting was supplied by the builder 3 years ago (new build). SO out of warranty.
It has a Hi Lo PiR where it would stay at 10% during the evening (off during the day) and increase to a 100% on motion...
None the less the only viable replacement I could find was the ASD Lighting shich has this ferature and resembles my old style lantern
I was thinking straight swap out... but no... the current faulty outside lanter the cable feed entry is near the bottom...this is where the cable comes out of the wall perfectly aligned (by the builder).
But this replacement I got the cable feed entry is ant the very top !

Any Idea how I can tackle this ? I had few ideas... (i prefer not to drill holes in my wall)
1. extend the current cable from the wall and drill a new hole in the mortar a couple of brick courses up and fish the cable to this new hole higher up ?
2. Modify the new lighting fixture so that there is a new entry at the bottom (not as easy as it sounds as I have to basically change the routing of the wiring internally on this new fixture (I know warranty will be no longer valid)
3. (Leaning to this one but need advice) - there is enough cavity space behind the back plate of this new fixture to route a flat 1.5mm core cable through but here is where I worry about building regs and water ingress i.e. the cable is now coming out of the wall running upwards and into the light fixture behind the back plate ?)
I have attached some pics

Also if the 3rd option is "allowed" then whats the best practice to extend the current cable coming out the wall so that it can stand up to the outside elements ?Thank you in advance for your time on this
