Outside light query

Hi,
My outside light has stopped working. I changed the bulb and the fuse in the fcu which it is connected to but no joy. I was beginning to think the light was knackered but i disconnected it from the supply and put a plug on lead and plugged it in and BINGO, light! My query is this, the fcu is on a ring but no other circuits have a problem. Surely if there was a fault in the wiring, it would knock the whole circuit out?

You may have had a loose connection and not making a complete circuit or your fcu may be knackered. Did you test the fuse before you put it in the fcu? Possible it was dud.

Retry with a known good fuse and make sure conns are tight. Also check incoming supply to fcu with multimeter.
