We had an outside wall rendered last summer(25ft x 12ft), after about 6 months it started coming away at the top, now its flaking even more, the guy who did it cant be contacted so i'm going to have a go repairing it myself. What kind of plaster/sand etc do i need and how do you seal the top of the wall (i think that is the problem, water getting between the rendering and the bricks). Thanks

You need to put some coping on top of your wall to protect it from the rain and freeze thaw. If the wall is shared with a neighbour, then best to get their permission before you do this.

Where the render has fallen off, be sure to remove any loose material and seal the area before rendering again.

Do a search on rendering mix, there’s plenty of previous posts on it.
