I have no water coming out of my outside tap. The tap itself is fine and there is a quick trickle when turning on. I don't know if it's down to a pump I had installed for better water pressure downstairs, could this cause it? I can't get hold of plumbers that installed it and can't find valve to see if it's been turned off and not turned on again by them. Would a pump cause this?

If it’s tee’d off the water main, then unlikely to be the pump. Likely the washer or failed check valve.
If it is like mine it may have a built in non return valve ( white plastic disc) which can stick in the closed position. Screw the tap off the mounting after isolating at the stop cock, unscrew the handle with the tap washer then push up or down (can't remember which way) the white plastic non return disc. Or if you just want to replace the whole tap see here
