Hi
Over winter 2007 I turned off my outside tap using the shutoff valve. Before I turned it back on I accidently turned the tap the wrong way and the top of the tap slackened off from the nut. I tightened this up using a spanner but it was leaking so I removed the handle and nut . Now when I turn the tap on there is a banging noise from the pipe and a vibration from the tap. Is the faucet goosed and how easy is it to fit a new tap and would this solve the problem. The noise only happens when the hose isn't connected so there is no pressure at the tap to stop it banging.
Thanks in advance
