Half way through painting the wooden window frames of my house and today brings rain, it,s a stop start with the rain all day according to the weather . Would l be foolish to attempt doing any painting today if the rain holds out for a while. What could/would be the downside of exterior gloss painting and then later raining. It had rained early in the morning so would the frames be ok to paint if it did,nt rain or could this also cause problems.

It would not be wise to apply paint in those conditions, with regard to the gloss it would become dull and pock marked in appearance and it's ability to form the correct bond would be greatly disturbed.

It often looks like your paint has got freckles when it rains on it. Leave it for better weather.
