Weve had an electrician come round and quote us for some work in our kitchen to install a new oven feed and another feed for our induction hob now these are about 5m away from each other. The electrician has quoted for the work and said both will be on separate circuits and breakers in the board. His also said these will both be in 6mm cable. I expected both should be in 10mm cable for making both circuits future proof or am i wasting money asking for it in bigger cable?

2x 10mm² cables is likely to be larger than the cable supplying your entire house.
There are no domestic cooking appliances which would require such an arrangement.
