Hello,

I'm moving my kitchen, so need to install a new gas point for the oven. I intend to put in all the pipe work, and then have an engineer link it all up.

Is it OK to bury the gas supply in a wall, or should it be visible?
Is it OK to use compression fittings, or should it be soldered?

Thanks

Buried in wall is ok providing pipe is protected
Solder joints in wall . compression can only be used when accesible
You may strugge to get someone to connect to what you have done as some people wil not trust what a diyer has done if they cant see it

Thanks - is metal conduit sufficient for protection?

Protection from corossion from plaster or cement so plastic coated pipe or proper type of duct tape coverin pipe. There is no need to put it in metal conduit
