I've just fitted a Fluidmaster 550073 flush valve from B&Q and I'm struggling to adjust the height of the overflow pipe.
On older versions of the same valve this was very straightforward. On the fixed (lower) part of the overflow was a plastic clip. Pull the clip to the "open" position, slide the upper part of the pipe to the desired position, and lock with the clip.
But my new one has a simplified design that I don't find intuitive. The instructions say: "Twist and lock overflow pipe to the desired position", but there's only about 20 mm of the inner pipe to get hold of and nothing really to grip. I've tried pliers, but I don't know which way to turn it – if indeed it's in the locked position – and I'm afraid of breaking it.
Any advice? I have emailed Fluidmaster but their videos all show the old style, so I'm not confident of help from there. Ditto B&Q.
