overheating

my daughter has a kia mentor which has begun to overheat I suspect the thermostat but cant find it any help would be appreciated

try looking at the bottom of the top radiator hose, that's the usual place.

Could be a dodgy thermostat, faulty water pump or even something as small as an air blockage in one of the radiator hoses or the radiator itself.
Head gaskets are also known to cause this when they fail. You can chech this by looking to see if there's any oil in the water resevoir or white sludge on the inside of the oil cap.

found a leak its coming from a small pipe at the coolant pump Does anyone know if there is a seal at this pipe or is this a sign of something bigger the pipe looks as if it goes to the head of the engine
