With the Billions of photo copiers, laser printers etc around the world and the amount of ozone they pump out, you'd think that the balance must be being restored from the pollutants in the atmosphere and the mighty hole in the sky is finally closing up?

Nice idea, but ozone (O3, i.e. an oxygen molecule with 3 atoms instead of 2) is rather unstable, so each molecule has a short life. So, by the time it had diffused up there it would have broken down already. Poor ozone

But on the positive side, all the ozone we get down here smells pretty good. I love the smell of ozone.

Ozone is very poisonous.

So is alcohol, but people still drink it.

Seriously, ozone smells pretty darn good! True that it it is poisonous, probably attacks your haemoglobin in some way. But, I'm not a smoker, so surely my photocopier-sniffing habits should be acceptable?

As long as that isn't when the bosses PA is using it......

Then i would have thought the solution is simple, Get some photocopiers and printers on board the space station pronto! :)
