Hi, I have clay chimney pots on top my chimney that are a bit grubby, and have white paint on them from when someone was painting around them, I was just wondering if anyone knows if I can paint them a terracotta colour?

Pots like these:

I was thinking of getting this paint:

There are three chimney pots I'd like to paint, only one of the chimneys gets used periodically, would that need heat resistant paint? The chimney is two stories up, not sure if it would be that hot up there when the fire is on.

No I wouldn’t advise you paint the chimney pots and especially as they are active. Wash them and give them a scrub if you like but no don’t paint them. If it annoys you that much, replace them but once you see how much this is going to cost you I doubt you will want to go down that route.

There is already white paint splashed on the chimneys, thinking of painting over it with terracotta paint.
