Evening all..

The rear wall of my house has 7 train outlets from historic pipes to new en-suites. The pipes have either been painted black or are standard black PVC. There are so many skating across the wall that they are a real eyesore.

Given this, I need to think of a way to blend them in to be less obvious. The wall are painted a shade of cream, so could I undercoat and gloss top coat them with a similar cream colour?

I know it may be unconventional in some eyes, but want to explore the options.

Thanks..

you can paint plastic pipes with oil-based non-drip gloss. No primer or undercoat required, but clean thoroughly first with white spirit and a green nylon pan scourer.

One flowing coat.
(thick paint systems are more prone to crack and craze)

JohnD is correct that unpainted PVC doesn't require an undercoat but if you are going from black to cream gloss you will want to use a white undercoat first (to obliterate the dark colour).
