The worktops are in good condition.
Can anyone recommend a paint product to use please, brush or spray?
I was thinking of a black finish to blend with the Alder wood finish of the cupboard doors.

I used to have solid teak worktops. I grew bored with applying Danish oil every couple of years.

I stripped the whole lot back with MC stripper and used a dedicated clear 2K (read: 2 pack lacquer) and sprayed them (using a HVLP turbine).

Be advised that 2K paints contain isocyanates. You are supposed to use a clean air supply when working with them. I spent years just wearing an ABEK charcoal filtered mask, sometimes I sprayed them with a lit roll up in my mouth. I suspect that I have COPD...

I purchased my lacquer from Smith and Rodgers in Glasgow. They were really helpful, I recommend that you phone them.
