Please help!!!....ive gotta go and buy some decorating materials for the living room and was wondering what type of roller i would need for for my walls?
the walls are of a sandy based paint and not a smooth finish...also are they standard fittings for the roller frames?
I was going to buy Dulux Once emulsion...Are they as good as the tin states

Those sand- based paints can be a pain!

Suggest a medium pile roller, give it a good wash before you use it otherwise you can end up with furry bits on the wall.

There are two standard sizes for rollers (sorry, not got one to hand at the moment so can't give you measurements - but theres about 10mm difference in diameter),but if you're getting new equipment you'll probably go for the pack with a tray, roller frame and roller head to fit.

You'll also need a 1.5" or 2" brush for cutting in.

Personally I wouldn't touch the Dulux One-coat, overpriced and you always need a second coat. Avoid the cheapo bargain emulsions as you can end up doing 3 or 4 coats. Best bet is go to a trade centre - Dulux or Leyland and get your colours mixed up on a trade base, you'll have easy application and coverage at a sensible price.

Wash the walls down with sugar soap (thats why sand-based paints are a pain - you'll probably trash a few cloths in the process!) and rinse, leave to dry and you're away
