Hi I have a wooden front door. It hasn't been painted in 15 years and the paint is all flaking off on it.

It is some sort of hard wooden and hasnt rotten anywhere.

Whats the best way to make this look a lot more presentable?

Should I burn the flaking paint off or just give it a really good sanding?

Depends how bad the flaking is. Might be better to use a heat gun and strip the entire door, then you can start from scratch and build up new coats of paint.

there is a picture to give you some idea

I want to replace the caulking( i think?) Between the door frame and the brick work.

What would be best to material to use for that job? As I need to do it between some window frames and brick works too

Strip the door and the stuff to caulk it is called 'frame sealant'.

what so

1. burn off all the old paint off the door and frame
2. sand & take off all the loose caulk
3. recaulk
4. prime
5 paint

That it?

Sand down between coats and thin the gloss down and give it two coats of gloss.
