Hi there. I'm looking for some help when it comes to painting our newly formed, Paranah Pine staircase. I want to paint it in Eggshell white but i'm wondering which undecoats etc to use to make everything durable for traffic. So far I have used a waterbased primer/undercoat on the spindles (had some left over). The finish will be Dulux trade diamond Eggshell (water based) as that is the finish on all the other woodwork.
Should I used a water based primer then and oil based undercoat and then the finish paint? What would the best combination be bearing in mind that the painted treads will be walked upon? Should I finish with a clear layeur or something?
I'm just a DIY enthusiast so any help would be appreciated.
