Just had a room skimm ed, was hoping once it was done a painter and decorator could get stuck in but the skimming around edges isn't great. Would a painter be able to make good and paint or do I get the skimmer back in?

If the painter wanted to earn more money, then I am sure he would say he would make good and clean up before painting.

You can forgive an uneven edge when plastering up to old skirting boards, because the edge can be a bit uneven to start with, but there is no excuse for an internal corner to be as bad as yours looks. There shouldn't be a reason for a bad job around sockets and light switches either - if the plasterer didn't want to loosen/remove the faceplates, and ensure the power was shut off, he should have got you to do it beforehand so that he could have achieved a better finish.

As decorators, we have to resolve this kind of issue all the time, but as Bosswhite implies, you can expect to be charged more if you want that done.
