Painting bathroom floorboards

Hi all
We are having the bathroom done and the floor has already been stained pine boards. The house is a cottage and we’d like to sand the boards down and paint them chalky white. Is there anything else we need to do to the boards apart from the sanding and painting given then are in a bathroom? Thank you!

Is it a first floor bathroom , have the gaps been sealed to prevent water damage below?
