painting external brickwork advice

hi
front and back of house needs painting..old red brick paint is flaking off so i need to scrap this off first....what masonary paint should i then use.......been total to use johnstones Pliolite ............ :eek:

what should i do start to finish

i was initially gonna use a stablising solution then sandtex or granocryl.....
