Hello,
I recently moved into a 1935 semi detached house and the external walls need a touch of fresh paint
I attach below the images of the external wall & would appreciate your expert opinion/guidance
1.Could the peeling paint be due to rising damp?
2.If so, then how should the surface be prepared for repainting
3.In some houses I have noticed black paint from ground to dpc level - what & why is the black paint used? Is it some special paint for damp areas?
4.the paint is peeling off in large lumps as if its a sheet of paper
5.In some of the walls I also notice the fungi- per pic attached below . How do I fix this issue
6.Something similar is happening on the front of the house aswell. What should I do to make it aesthetically appealing?
Many thanks
