I’ve had these up for a couple of weeks now. I wanted to treat them using Ronseal Dark oak fence treatment.

Is it okay to do this around now or do I need to wait for these boards to age/dry first?

Thanks in advance.

I left mine a year to weather. Wood needs to be dry and a good dying day. It's possible to treat this time of year with good weather

Thanks for the response. There has been some sunshine lately but also, plenty of rain. Is it harmful to the boards to treat when they are not fully dry?

As Wayners says, leaving them to acclimatise is good for wood - and the weather isn't going to get any warmer. Anything below five degrees is not an optimum for painting outdoors and although the temp will be moderate this week, the end of October will be colder and wetter then the beginning of November is due to take a sharp turn into Winter, especially in t'North.

It's for aesthetics reason that I wanted to do this sooner but perhaps, I should leave it and tackle in next summer, based on the reasoning you have provided.
