painting house exterior

We are going to paint the exterior of our house this year and will probably use dulux weathershield paint. Just wondering if anyone has experience of this and does it 'do what it says on the tin', last for six years. Is there anything else you could recommend?

Also we have plastic guttering and downpipes which have been painted, do we have to use a special paint for these or can we use the same gloss as we are going to use on our woodwork?

The Dulux is great stuff, if the weather is abit inclement, then use the all seasons weathershield, this is pliolite based and is rain proof in 15 minutes. As for the plastice gutters etc, just give them a light sanding and dust off then use the normal gloss, but thin it slightly to make it go on easier.

Weathershield Exterior Excellent. Used 2 coats exterior undercoat, 1 or (preferably) 2 coats exterior gloss on wood. Thinned down first coat gloss on plastic gutter, less thinned down second coat. 9 years later, as photo shows, there's no sign of flaking - very sunny aspect. Well worth the extra money and effort.
